As I was exploring the idea, I studied the successful edtech platforms that combine gamification with immediate feedback and AI analysis in a freemium model to create a habit-forming learning experience. In parallel, I studied existing interview practice platforms to analyze the features they offered. Marrying the two, I created the Interview Prep App that employs these proven principles to successfully transform interview preparation from anxiety-inducing to confidence-building

My Biggest Learnings
Don't Reinvent the Wheel
"Who has dealt with this problem well? What can we learn from them?" I studied successful language learning apps (Duolingo, Stimuler) and applied their proven consistency-building mechanics, immediate feedback loops, gamification strategies, and progress visualization. This leveraged battle-tested UX patterns instead of starting from scratch, accelerating development while ensuring effectiveness.
Use AI to Your Advantage
I strategically used Claude AI for contextual UX copy generation, Notionsmith for user personas and design critiques, and AI-generated feedback to simulate user testing scenarios. This accelerated my research and iteration process without compromising creativity or design quality—AI amplified my capabilities rather than replacing human-centered thinking.
